DOVER, Del. (AP) — A Delaware man who was seen on police dashboard camera video being kicked in the head by a police officer in a racially charged case from 2013 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on unrelated gun charges.
Lateef Dickerson pleaded guilty last month to possession of a firearm by a person prohibited from doing so, receiving a stolen firearm and conspiracy.

A judge last week declared Dickerson a habitual offender and sentenced him to minimum mandatory term of 10 years on the gun possession charge.
In return for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped several other charges again Dickerson, including those stemming from alleged assaults of his former girlfriend and another woman last year.

In December, a white Dover police officer was acquitted of assaulting Dickerson, who is black, during a 2013 arrest.
