Detroit toddler, 2, dies after being shot in fight over tossed drink
A two-year-old girl has been taken off of life support some four days after being shot in a fight over a tossed drink in Detroit.
Makanzee Oldham was wounded Wednesday while she was in the car with her father. According to the Detroit News, 21-year-old Antoine Smelley poured a drink over the head of a young woman who was getting ready for prom.
Smelley’s brother, 31-year-old Cleveland, later shot at multiple people in a car — including Makanzee. The shooting took place at Antoine Smelley’s home.
According to CBS News, Makanzee would have turned 3 in a couple weeks.
According to a spokesman at St. John Hospital, Makanzee died Sunday.
