Mother charged with criminally negligent homicide in death of 2-year-old daughter

A grand jury has upgraded the charges facing a 20-year-old mother whose 2-year-old died in a house fire.

Leila Aquino now faces charges of criminally negligent homicide because her daughter Kaleenah was home alone when fire occurred.

Aquino was originally charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, according to the New York Daily News.

Aquino had been working at a strip club on February 23 and allegedly left her daughter behind at home alone.

She reportedly faces up to four years in prison.
