Nick Cannon drops ‘Divorce Papers’ and spills more tea on his marriage
Nick Cannon has released a new song called “Divorce Papers” and also recently opened up to Genius, saying that he was not the reason for the delay in his divorce from Mariah Carey.
Part of the lyrics read:
“But f*** my health, y’all felt I kept this sh*t held up
Over some m******** alimony?
Now who phony?”

Cannon said in an interview that he had called his new song “Divorce Papers” because of the rumors about him holding up the divorce.
“I was like, ‘You want Divorce Papers? Well here you go!'” he said. “The lawyer’s line was also me releasing a little frustration at the attorneys on both sides because lawyers always think they control the clients and they cause most of the friction, especially since my ex and I get along.”
Cannon also rapped:
“My Dad said next time that I need to find a black queen
He don’t understand that she was already that
I feel trapped, queen – where Fetty at?”

He spoke about how difficult it has been having to exchange his children with Mariah Carey.
“There is nothing more painful than parting with or having to drop your children off,” he said. “One day as my daughter was giving me a hug goodbye my eyes welled up and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy, why do you have tears in your eyes?’ and I told her it was because I love her. She understood. She is a genius. She just hugged me harder and said I love you, too. Waterworks!”
The two stars were married for six years. Â Carey has since moved on and is engaged to Australian billionaire businessman James Packer.
