Melissa Harris-Perry to join BET News as ‘special correspondent’

After her split from MSNBC, Melissa Harris-Perry has moved on and will be joining BET News,

As part of her first assignment for the network, Harris-Perry will cover the Republican and Democratic National Conventions along with with BET News correspondent Marc Lamont Hill.

Harris-Perry will be working for the network as a special correspondent and will aid them in developing longform news specials and will also contribute to various other programs.

The move comes after Harris-Perry’s very public split with MSNBC after an email sent by Harris-Perry was leaked to the New York Times in which she denounced the network for preempting her show for election coverage.
