Bow Wow retires from rap and plans to release one final album

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

It looks like Bow Wow is out of the rap business for good. At least, that’s what he’s saying on Twitter.

“Over 10 million sold, 6 arena tours, 10 top 10’s, a few number 4 platinum albums, 2 gold albums. I’M DONE,” he tweeted. “’Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure’ over 10 million sold. This the last one. THANK YOU.”

The 29-year-old, now known as Shad Moss, went on to explain his reasoning for ending a rap career many people assumed slowed down years ago.

“Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? I’m good with everything i accomplished. I made it to the White House.”

Moss then added, “I always said years ago i’d retire from music before 30. I just cant see myself at 30 years old rapping.”

While Moss hasn’t put out a studio album since 2009, he has kept busy with acting in movies and television shows, such as Lottery Ticket, Madeas Big Happy Family and BET’s 106th and Park.  The rapper says he has one last album to offer his fans.

“My last album will be executive produced by my uncle Snoop and myself,” he wrote on Instagram. “Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him.”

Moss recently made headlines for saying his mixed heritage prevented him from identifying with the civil rights struggle in the United States.
