So many people wanted selfies with Simone Biles it ‘delayed’ Rio’s closing event
Simone Biles, who carried the United States flag during the Rio closing event, was repeatedly stopped during the closing of the Olympics by several of her fellow athletes, who wanted to take selfies with her.
“Simone Biles, in all of her petite, air-defying athleticism, was the ultimate breakout star of the 2016 Olympics,” the New York Times Magazine said. “And on Sunday night, during the closing ceremony, it seemed every top athlete from around the world wanted a selfie with her.”
