The night before Adam Hilarie was killed, he went on a bowling date with a woman he met on the dating site PlentyOfFish.

The two went back to Hilarie’s place in Auburndale, Florida, and she later texted him to say, “I had a good time and would like to see you again,” according to The Orlando Sentinel.

Police say she returned the next day with three other people to rob him, and one of the robbers shot Hilarie in the head.

Andre Warner, 26, Gary Gray, 31, and Joshua Ellington, 26, in addition to his date, 18-year-old Hailey Bustos, have all been arrested in connection with Hilarie’s death and face charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a firearm and first-degree murder.

According to Deputy Chief Andy Ray, it is not immediately clear how the robbery escalated into murder. “Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter,” the arrest report states.

Police say Bustos was paid $50 to arrange the robbery.

Hilarie was an aspiring boxer and only 27-years-old.  A vigil was held in his honor over the weekend.  “I miss my daddy because he’s with Jesus,” his 5-year-old daughter, Lajaya, told ABC Action News.

Hilarie’s friends and family are raising funds for the daughter he leaves behind.
