Man confesses to shooting wife on Facebook Live, threatens to kill more relatives

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Police are looking for a North Carolina man who killed his 15-year-old son and shot his ex-wife before confessing to the crimes on Facebook Live.

“What’s up everybody? I just killed my (expletive) wife,” the video begins.

“She lied on me, had warrants taken out on me. She drug me all the way down to nothing,” Earl Valentine said on Facebook Live. “I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming.”

What’s more, Valentine called up police to tell them that he was going to Richmond, Virginia, with the express intent to murder more of his family members.

“When we spoke to him on the phone he told us he is basically armed and dangerous,” Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew told WNCN.

While Valentine shot both his ex-wife and his son at point-blank range in the chest, it’s unclear whether or not he meant to shoot his son, and authorities believe the boy might have died trying to protect his mother. Valentine’s son called 911 and told dispatchers with his dying words that he and his mother had been shot by his father.

While police are still looking for Valentine, they are protecting the rest of the family members.
