Several players on Charleston Southern’s football team took to social media on Thursday night to report that more than 30 of them are facing suspension over purchases made at their school bookstore.
Apparently, they had spent their book money on items that were not books, such as pens and paper.
Running back Ben Robinson posted to Facebook, saying:

Offensive lineman Frank Cirone echoed Robinson’s criticism online as well:
It is unfortunate Charleston Southern University only cares about itself as an institution. The protection of its students/athletes should be a number one priority. This is the second time in two years I am ineligible to participate due [to] issues that could of been avoided if the necessary steps were taken by Charleston Southern.
Wow. Per Charleston Southern Offensive Lineman Frank Cirone, the entire offensive line is suspended vs. FSU. pic.twitter.com/g6uCqfFRR0
