Erykah Badu to host Soul Train Awards, Drake and Beyonce lead nominations

In a press release, Centric also announced that Drake led the group of artists for most nominations, with 12 nominations, including two for the Video of the Year Award, for his contribution to Rihanna’s “Work” and for “Hotline Bling.”
Just behind Drake is Beyoncé, with eight nominations. These include Best R&B/Soul Female Artist as well as Album/Mixtape of the Year for “Lemonade.” Her single “Formation” is also up for Song of the Year, Best Dance Performance and The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award.
Rihanna, Kanye West, DJ Khaled and Usher will also be honored at this year’s awards.
Additionally, Brandy will be receiving the second-ever Lady of Soul Award during this year’s awards. The first Lady of Soul Award was given last year to Jill Scott.
The awards show will be filmed on Nov. 6 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will feature performances from some of the biggest names in the industry.
