Cecilia Hart, actress and wife of James Earl Jones, dies at 68

After a year-long battle with ovarian cancer, Ceclia Hart, the wife of James Earl Jones, died on Sunday at age 68.

After a year-long battle with ovarian cancer, Ceclia Hart, the wife of James Earl Jones, died on Sunday at age 68.

The actress, who graced both stage and screen with her presence, and she and Jones often acted at the Westport Country Playhouse. The two of them met while they were in Paris. Jones was playing Los Angeles Police Captain Woody Paris, and Hart was Sgt. Stacey Erickson.

They also played opposite each other in Othello, with Jones as Othello and Hart as Desdemona, before the two were wed in March of 1982.

Hart is survived by her husband as well as their son Flynn and her brothers James and William. Her family has requested donations to be made to The Actors Fund or Hudson Valley Hospice.
