Lee Daniels’ new series, “Star,” is debuting on Dec. 14 right after the fall finale of “Empire.”

Fox is moving Empire‘s fall finale to 8 p.m., with Star airing at 9 p.m. and then filling Empire‘s time slot starting on Jan. 4 while the show is on hiatus. Basically, Fox is giving “Star” the best kickoff it can possibly give the show.

Additionally, Fox dropped a trailer for the new series on Wednesday so that viewers can get psyched for the new series, which follows the story of three young singers on their journey through the cutthroat music industry.
