11-year-old saves mother being held captive by bringing note to school

On Tuesday, an 11-year-old girl saved her mother by bringing a note to school saying she was being held captive.

According to East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis, the girl went to school with the note from her mother. The handwritten note said that she was being held and asked that someone call the police.

With the help of the little girl, the school and law enforcement, the mother was found safe at a home near Folly Brown Road. They found the man holding her, Donald Ray Guy, hiding in a closet, and he was arrested.

This is not the first domestic abuse charge Guy has faced. He is already facing two domestic abuse and battery charges, along with two warrants for missed court dates.

During the investigation, authorities also recovered a stolen ATV on the property.
