Woman who claimed Trump raped her when she was 13 drops lawsuit

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Friday, the woman who accused Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump of having raped her when she was 13 years old dropped her lawsuit against the media mogul.

Thomas Meagher, one of the attorneys for the woman, filed a one-page voluntary dismissal, and Lisa Bloom, another attorney for the Jane Doe, said that there had been “numerous threats” against the woman, leading her to cancel a planned appearance to speak out publicly against Trump.

“She has been here all day, ready to do it, but unfortunately she is in terrible fear,” Bloom said on Wednesday.

The woman claimed that Trump and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein raped her in 1994 and filed suit earlier this year. In response to her claims, Alan Garten, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, called the suit “a complete fabrication” and went on to say, “This is basically a sham lawsuit brought by someone who desires to impact the presidential election.”
