South Philly building vandalized with pro-Trump, pro-Nazi images

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Wednesday, an abandoned building in South Philadelphia was vandalized with pro-Trump and pro-Nazi images.

One image showed a swastika replacing the “T” in Trump’s name, and another featured the phrase “Sieg Heil” (“Hail victory”).

Philadelphia police Public Affairs Officer Christine O’Brien said that police responded to the reports of vandalism.

Cosmo Baker, a South Philadelphia DJ, said that a friend called authorities about the vandalism. Baker said that he had contacted the Anti-Defamation League and called the images a hate crime.

“I think the messaging was very clear,” Baker said. “(Whether) it was malicious intent or stupid kids who wanted to be provocative, it still has the same effect.”
