The final votes from Election Day 2016 are still trickling in, and Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead is only increasing as they do so.

Now, according to Dave Wasserman of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, Clinton has a lead in the popular vote by 61,963,234 votes to Donald Trump’s 60,961,185, as of Tuesday.

The lead is a sore point for Democrats, who also lost the Electoral College but won the popular vote in the 2000 presidential election.

Votes are still reportedly coming in from Utah, California, and Washington. Votes are also still coming in for Michigan, which remains too tight of a race to call for either candidate.

Trump, for his part, has claimed that his focus during the election was on winning the Electoral College, since that was what was needed to win the presidency. But, he claimed on Twitter, he would have won the popular vote if that was what he needed to do.

“If the election were based on total popular vote I would have campaigned in N.Y. Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily,” he wrote. “The Electoral College is actually genius in that it brings all states, including the smaller ones, into play. Campaigning is much different!”
