Kanye West’s doctor warned police he could become violent

When police in California arrived to take Kanye West to the hospital, they had been warned that he could become violent.

Dr. Michael Farzam called police and asked them to take West to UCLA Medical Center, TMZ reported. He reportedly called his patient “Jim Jones” and described him as having “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.”

Farzam told officers that West had attacked a gym staffer, though it is unclear when the alleged attack took place. He also claimed to have put West in a 5150 psychiatric hold prior to calling in to request that West be taken to the hospital, though his claim to have used the hold has come under some scrutiny.

West was handcuffed to the gurney when police arrived to take him to the hospital, as is protocol when someone is put in the 5150 hold, and he allegedly resisted the police initially before he eventually cooperated with them.

West was hospitalized after a week of odd rants, including one in which he claimed that he would have voted for Donald Trump had he voted and another which took aim at Jay Z and Beyonce before he cancelled the reminder of his “Saint Pablo” tour.
