Dylann Roof will represent himself in church shooting trial

A judge ruled on Monday that Dylann Roof, who is on trial for the shooting of nine church goers in a black Charleston church that rocked the nation, will be allowed to represent himself in his trial.
Roof filed on Sunday to be allowed to dismiss his counsel and represent himself. Although U.S. District Court Judge Richard Gergel said that it would be “wise” for him to keep his counsel, he still accepted the request.
This decision comes three days after Gergel ruled that Roof was competent enough to stand trial.
