Ronald Gasser, the man who shot former Jets player Joe McKnight, has reportedly been released from jail, with no charges pressed against him.

According to TMZ, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Dept released Gasser “sometime overnight” because they felt they had no reason to hold him any longer.

While officials said that Gasser “definitely” shot McKnight in an incident of road rage after an argument at an intersection, there were “questions about the circumstances surrounding what led up to it.”

However, the investigation is still open, and charges could still be filed despite Gasser’s release.
