Denver Broncos star targeted by racists, shares threatening fan letter

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Friday, Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall took to Instagram to share a racist letter that he had received from a ‘fan.’

“The hatred by some against people of color is one of the reasons we are where we’re at in the world today, and they wonder why we feel the way we do and take the stances that we take,” Marshall wrote.

The letter repeatedly referred to the African-American linebacker by the N-word and called him “worthless” and “spoiled” for participating in the protests that have swept the sports community since Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem and sparked a national conversation about the state of race relations in the United States.

The letter writer continues on to suggest that if Marshall is “sooo unhappy with America” he should “go back to the jungle.”

The letter also includes a dire threat: “Your time is coming, watch out n*****,” the letter reads, continuing on to say, “Go back to Africa you ‘mud puppet.”’

Finally, the letter concludes by claiming Marshall is “giving a bad name to good black folk,” before the letter writer states that he hopes Marshall is crippled and left in a wheelchair by a “devastating hit.”

According to Marshall, security is now investigating the message.
