A woman was dragged off of a Delta flight after she refused to get off a plane when she boarded without checking in and then demanded overhead bin space.
According to Rene deLambert, a Delta spokesperson, the unnamed woman failed to check in after pushing past the gate agent “because she wasn’t an early boarder,” and once she was on the plane ahead of when she was scheduled to board, she began to demand overhead bin space.
Police were called in to remove the woman from the plane after she refused to leave and board at her assigned time, and she was arrested for violation of airport ordinances, including failure to leave the aircraft.
In video footage of the incident, police can be seen dragging the woman off the plane by her arms as she lies flat on her back and the other passengers stare in shock and surprise.
Erica Donerson, a spokesperson for Delta Air Lines, said that the woman “would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures.”
“When officers arrived, Delta Air Lines stated the woman could not remain on board,” she said. “Despite repeated requests by officers, the woman refused to leave the aircraft and had to be removed. She was arrested and charges are pending.”
