A trailer for Jay Z’s upcoming documentary, “TIME: The Kalief Browder Story,” has been released.

The documentary series tells the story of Kalief Browder, who, at 16, spent three years in New York City’s Rikers Island jail without ever being convicted of a crime.

While behind bars, Browder, who was accused of stealing a book bag and refused to take a plea deal, spent two of the three years in solitary confinement. The teen endured physical and emotional abuse, and his case became the impetus for proposed reform to NYC’s criminal justice system.
