Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Pastor Shirley Caesar spoke in defense of Kim Burrell, who was recently caught on video railing against homosexuality, in remarks to her congregation at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

“You (Kim Burrell) should’ve said something 4 years ago when our President made that stuff alright!” Caesar said in addressing Burrell’s remarks.

In a longer video segment, Caesar suggested that if pastors wanted to speak on subjects like that, they should collect phones at the door in order to keep their comments “in house.”

She went on to say “we’ve all made mistakes” and claimed that she has had to learn to censor herself before she speaks because “once it’s out there, it’s out there.”

Looks like she still hasn’t quite learned that lesson, though.
