Mike Epps was arrested early Sunday morning along with one other man, for allegedly attacking a tourist.

New Orleans police said that Epps and Thomas Cobb attacked a tourist at Harrah’s Casino while the tourist was visiting for the NBA All-Star Game, according to the New Orleans Advocate.

The victim, who asked not to be identified, said that he was headed to the cash-out area when he saw Epps.

We kind of met right there in the middle and I recognized him,” the man said. “I said ‘Oh, Mike Epps!'”

“The next thing I know, he started hitting me in the face, unprovoked,” he continued. “I had a handful of chips, so I just basically bent down to protect myself, and then my friends ran over and got in front of me, and then security got there.”

Casino security allegedly allowed Epps and Cobb to leave but did call police. The man said in a phone interview that he had not been aware that Epps was arrested, adding, “It’s a relief, because I thought he got away.”

While both Epps and Cobb were released on $1,000 bail, they each reportedly failed to show up in court Tuesday, so attachments have been made for their arrest.
