Smithsonian African American Museum reaches 1 million visitors

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Last week, the National Museum of African American History and Culture announced that it had reached an important milestone: it has now had one million visitors. 

The museum opened on  Sept. 24, 2016, so this is an incredible milestone for a museum that has only been open for a little over four months!

“We’re proud to have welcomed 1,000,000 visitors! Learn more about our mission: http://nmaahc.si.edu  ,” the museum posted on its Twitter account.

Congratulations to the National Museum of African American History and Culture; we hope people continue to relish this amazing chance to revel in our history!
