A North Carolina man has been arrested after allegedly attacking a gay couple last month.
Brandon Ray Davis was arrested on a charge of felony aggravated battery after a February 23 incident in which he allegedly used his scooter as a deadly weapon in order to run down two men while shouting homophobic insults at them.
Kevin Seymour and Kevin Price were riding bicycles when they called out to Davis, who was riding a rented scooter. They wanted to warn him that he had nearly hit a car, but their attempt to help was answered with insults and an attack.

According to the Key West Police Department, Davis ran the two men down and shouted things like, “You guys are a couple of fa*s,” “I bet you fa**ots voted for that b***h Hillary” and “You live in Trump country now.”
At one point, the two men threatened to call police, and Davis responded with a threat to “cut you up” if they did. But Seymour and Price were able to get the scooter tag number, which helped police to track down their attacker in order to make an arrest.
“Probable cause exists to believe there was evidence of prejudice in Davis’ attack of Seymour…” police said in a warrant, noting that Davis “used explicit bias language in reference to their sexual orientation. Davis then attacked Seymour without any provocation.”
