Studio’s $350 Million Advertising Budget to Promote Annual Slate of 17 Theatrical Feature Film Releases

Los Angeles, CA – March 9, 2017  Entertainment Studios, Inc., (www.es.tv) one of the largest independent producers and distributors of first-run syndicated television programming for broadcast television stations, and owner of seven 24-hour HD cable networks, is officially announcing its search for an advertising agency to handle its $350 million Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures advertising account to promote its annual slate of seventeen theatrical feature film releases. Each title in the annual slate of theatrical feature film releases is to be distributed/released on 1,500 to 4,000 North American screens.

In October 2015, Byron Allen purchased Freestyle Releasing – a full-service, theatrical motion picture distribution company representing independent companies, major studios, and mini-major studios  for the purpose of exhibiting movies as theatrical releases. Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures has a multi-year/multi-picture output deal with Lionsgate for DVD, electronic sell-through, and VOD. Through Byron Allen’s acquisition of Freestyle Releasing, Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures has a multi-year/multi-picture output deal with Netflix for SVOD.

“Our ad agency search represents another huge step in Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures’ growing presence in North America’s theatrical distribution marketplace,” said Byron Allen, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Entertainment Studios. “We are looking for an ad agency that is creative, innovative, and can be a long-term strategic partner.”

Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures will distribute the new Mandy Moore/Claire Holt feature 47 METERS DOWN nationwide on over 3,500 screens, with a summer release date of Friday June 23, 2017.  Byron Allen purchased the movie from Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s Dimension Films. 47 METERS DOWN stars Mandy Moore (THIS IS US) and Claire Holt (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES) and tells the story of two adventure-seeking sisters who go shark cage-diving while on vacation in Mexico. Much to their horror, the cage breaks away from the boat, leaving the pair in an observation cage trapped at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by hungry Great White sharks.  The key to their survival – with very little time and very little oxygen in their tanks – is to try and swim 47 meters to the surface while being hunted by the Great White sharks.
