Day care worker arrested after girl found begging for food

A 5-year-old girl was found at a Queens supermarket hungry and begging for food before finally being returned to her family.

Essiah Miller Love was returned to her aunt after police were called when an employee at the Three Brothers Meat Market saw her walk into the store asking for food and realized that the girl was alone.

Early Thursday, day care worker Trimeka Crum was arrested after dropping Essiah off at home and not checking to see if there was an adult to take care of her. Crum, 35, was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child.
