A street fight between two teenage boys unexpectedly ended in a handshake after one man intervened with a voice of reason and impressive deescalation tactics.
While other teens cheered on the young men to “square up” and pummel each other, an unidentified man approached the ruckus.
“All y’all — y’all the real cowards,” he says, pointing to the young children crowded around the teens with cell phones recording in their hands. He points out the fact that the onlookers are “smiling and laughing” as he talks down the two teens. “But you really upset.”
“You’re more mad than he is,” the man says, addressing a teen in a white shirt. “I can see it in your face. So you fighting for a reason. He only fighting you because you want to fight him.”
When the teen responds by accusing the other teen, who is wearing a gray hoodie, of having started it, the man nods.
“So you in the right. You defending yourself,” the man said before turning to the teen in the hoodie and asking him who “ill-advised” him.
He then addressed the teens collectively, saying, “Y’all almost men. You ain’t kids no more. Y’all girls ain’t little girls no more.”
“Y’all men! Start acting like it, yo,” the man said, addressing the whole group at large, later adding, “Don’t make your parents look like this, yo. It’s important.”
By the end of the video, the man stands between the two teens insisting that he will not leave until they shake hands, which, eventually, they do.
