Driver charged after punching 6-year-old boy on school bus

According to a recent lawsuit, a school bus driver who was driving with a suspended license put a 6-year-old boy in a headlock and punched him.

Natasha Keizer said that her son, Amari, was called to the front of the school bus by the driver, Michael Bradley. When Amari came up to the front, the suit alleges, Bradley put him in a headlock and punched him, bloodying his nose. Bradley then allegedly punched the boy in the upper thigh and ordered him to take off his shoes for the rest of the ride to The Ideal School on March 3.

Amari told school officials what had happened when he got to school, but his mother was not informed until hours later.

“My son walked into the school at 9 a.m. and told his teacher, ‘My bus driver punched me in the face and gave me a bloody nose,’ and then he was questioned until 1:30 p.m.,” said Keizer. “I didn’t find out about what happened until 4 p.m. when another bus driver called and asked me what happened to my son. I called the school and the head of the school also told me the bus driver punched my son in the face.”

Several days later, Bradley was arrested and has now been charged with assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
