Ryan Seacrest replaces Michael Strahan as Kelly Ripa’s new ‘Live’ co-host
Ryan Seacrest has officially been named as Michael Strahan's replacement as co-host of "Live" with Kelly Ripa.
Ryan Seacrest has officially been named as Michael Strahan’s replacement as co-host of “Live” with Kelly Ripa.
The well-known broadcaster was introduced by Ripa on Monday morning as her new co-host with giant new sign that read, “Live! With Kelly and Ryan.” It’s a smart move, since Live is now competing with Megyn Kelly’s new daily show, which airs at 9 a.m., the same time as Live.

Seacrest has previously hosted Live as a guest co-host five times. Although he lives in California, he will reportedly be making the move to New York in order to take the job, with a studio in the same building as Live is recorded so that he can continue his radio host duties.
Ever since Strahan’s sudden exit from the show, Ripa has been through a host of other temporary guest co-hosts while a new partner was being sought out, including the likes of Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, Jerry O’Connell, and Fred Savage.
Before debuting her new co-host Monday morning, Ripa teased the big announcement with a video of her sipping a coffee mug. “We’re going to need a bigger mug,” she tweeted.
