Racists attack Malia and Sasha Obama for having a pizza party

Though they’ve been out of the White House for months, the Obama family is yet again the target of racist attacks.

After Michelle Obama revealed that Sasha and Malia Obama spent their final day in the White House hanging with friends and eating pizza, the former First Family was met with racist attacks online from trolls.

“They had a sleepover, because of course on Inauguration Day, because my girls are so normal, they’re like, ‘Well, eight girls are gonna be sleeping here because it’s our last time, and we want pizza and we want nuggets.’ And it’s like, really?” the former first lady recalled.

Of course, not soon after, racist commenters hit MSN’s report in the Lifestyles section with all sorts of attacks: everything from the tired old claims that Michelle Obama is really a man to the suggestion that Malia and Sasha had fried chicken and watermelon (not pizza) for their party.

Obama also spoke about the moment of transition when they welcomed the new First Family, saying, “So that moment of transition, right before the doors opened and we welcomed in the new family, our kids were leaving out the back door in tears, saying goodbye to people.”

“I didn’t want to have tears in my eyes because people would swear I was crying because of the new president,” she joked.
