A Georgia judge has dismissed charges from a traffic stop in 2015 of a former Atlanta Hawks player after determining that he was racially profiled during the stop.

Mike Scott and his brother Antonn were stopped by Deputy Brent Register in July of 2015 after Register, according to officials, noticed that their car was following too closely behind other cars. During the traffic stop, marijuana and MDMA were found in the car.

However, Scott’s attorneys argued that the car was stopped for no reason and that there was racial profiling involved with the traffic stop, an assessment with which the judge agreed on Wednesday.

Antonn, who was driving, was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement officers and with following too closely. Both were charged with felony possession of marijuana, and possession of Schedule I drug.

HuffPost’s Maxwell Strachan reports that Scott was traded to the Phoenix Suns in February but was then waived. He has not been signed to an NBA team since.
