Michael Oher, the NFL star whose story inspired the Sandra Bullock film The Blind Side, was issued a misdemeanor citation by the Nashville Police Department for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver.

According to People, the Uber drive claimed that on April 14, he picked up Oher and four other friends for a ride to downtown Nashville. Oher allegedly told the driver to follow another car, but the Uber driver thought that the other car didn’t seem to know where it was going, so he offered to take the lead.

Oher allegedly thought the driver just wanted to run up the fare and objected. A confrontation then ensued outside of the car.

When the driver moved his hands toward Oher’s face, Oher pushed him to the ground and kicked him in the leg before the other passengers in the car rushed out to restrain Oher.

The police citation stated that Oher was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time, but police did not perform a breathalyzer test or a blood test to confirm whether this was the case.

“We are aware of an incident involving Michael Oher,” the Carolina Panthers said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”
