Queen Latifah took a break from filming Flint in Toronto to speak to the Associated Press. During the interview, Latifah said that the Flint water crisis was one of the great American tragedies of the century, which was why she hoped her film would bring more attention to it.

Specifically, Latifah called out government officials like Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who she said knew about the crisis for far too long without doing anything about it–actions that she said should land people in jail.

“There were a bunch of people who knew about it and then didn’t do anything,” she said.

Flint, which is scheduled to air on Lifetime in the fall, explores the story of the women of Flint who discovered the truth about the lead in the city’s water and went on a quest for justice.
