Keyshia Cole fears losing her mother, Frankie, to addiction

Keyshia Cole admitted on Twitter that one of her greatest fears is losing her mother to addiction, whether to the drugs or to the streets.

Keyshia Cole’s mother, Frankie, has been battling drug addiction for some time, and Cole admitted on Twitter that one of her greatest fears is losing her mother to that addiction, whether to the drugs or to the streets.

Cole told her followers that she had confronted her mother about this fear, and to her shock, her mother’s reaction was basically a brush off.

“I told my mother the other day I was afraid to lose her because she keeps going back to the streets. You kno what she said? In return?” Cole asked in a series of tweets. “She said. ‘YOU’LL be aight.'”

“I was like. Wtf is that suppose to mean. Smh. I will NOT be ok if something happens to her. AT ALL! Not amount of money could replace,” she continued.

Several of her fans expressed their surprise over Cole’s mother’s response, and she thanked them for their support, saying that she didn’t understand and “couldn’t imagine” the mindset that would bring her mother to an answer like that.

“And I was crying when I said it. I get to think she feels no pain,” Cole said, later adding, “Can’t imagine a mother sayin that to her child. Idk. Maybe I fully don’t understand her addiction. That sh** hurt tho.”
