Melania and Barron Trump officially move into White House
Melania and Barron Trump are officially moving into the White House.
It’s been over four months since Donald Trump became president, but his wife, Melania, decided to stay in New York for the first few months of his presidency while their 11-year-old son, Barron, finished his school year there. However, now that the school year is over, the First Family is headed to Washington, D.C.
Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump’s communications director, took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that Melania and Barron were making the move, saying, “It’s official! @FLOTUS & Barron have made the move to DC!”
This is good news for all the protesters in New York City who have been upset at the increased burden of security (and money) associated with the first lady continuing to live at Trump Tower.
It’s also a historic move, as now that Barron had arrived at the presidential residence, he is the first boy to live there since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1963, who was three at the time.
Melania and Barron arrived on Marine Force One along with Melania’s parents, Viktor and Amalija Knav, in order to make the move. Melania has reportedly been “preparing the residence” for some time while also searching for schools for her son.
