Shark Week is here early with ’47 Meters Down’
47 Meters Down is the summer shark thriller we’ve all been waiting for.
The drama stars Mandy Moore and Claire Holt as sisters who find themselves trapped at the bottom of the ocean after a vacation to Mexico takes a dark turn. Entertainment Studios’ own Jon Kelley sat down with the two leading women to discuss what fans can expect from the film.
Holt promises a chilling adventure.
“It really is a lot of our worst fears realized,” Holt told Jon Kelley. “Running out of air, facing sharks, being trapped, having no knowledge of where you are or what you’re doing or what’s coming next.”
The actors spent a lot of time underwater training and filming for the movie and they praise its ability to tell a story in such a high pressure and unusual setting.
“It’s really unique in that sense of a film taking place primarily underwater,” Moore told Kelley. “And with that came all of these different challenges of being able to really take a step back and look at the macro-picture of what this film ultimately is. There’s a lot to be proud of and I hope people are really moved and frightened and get every sort of emotion that they’re supposed to out of this kind of experience.”
47 Meters Down hits theaters Friday, June 16th.
