On Wednesday, Bill Cosby’s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, said that Cosby’s fate was “in God’s hands” now.
“All we can do is hope and pray, and we’re appreciative of what they’re trying to do,” Wyatt said, even as jurors continued their deliberations for 24 hours.
“It’s a good thing that they’re taking their time to look at the facts, and that’s all we can ask for,” Wyatt continued. “Right now it’s in God’s hands. And there’s nothing we can do about it. But we are pleased they are asking the questions, and asking the judge to bring back the facts.”
After a six-day trial, jurors have spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday deliberating and have sent out five notes requesting different pieces of evidence, including the context for Cosby’s admission to giving women quaaludes in a deposition.
“The beauty of it is that when you look at Mr. Cosby’s deposition, he was 100 percent truthful in his deposition,” Wyatt said.
The case has been brought against Cosby by Andrea Constand, who claimed that in 2004, Cosby drugged and then sexually assaulted her. However, Cosby’s defense has pointed to inconsistencies in her testimony, as she said that the assault took place in January, then changed it to March, then said she was “mistaken” and reaffirmed that it happened in January.
