Steve Harvey has been getting pushback after he made jokes about the state of Flint’s water during a morning radio talk show.

He was on the radio show after the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Harvey, a Cleveland fan, was lamenting the loss when a caller called in to tell Harvey that Cleveland didn’t “deserve jack.”

According to many Facebook posts, Harvey shot back by saying that the man, who was from Flint, didn’t have access to clean water to shower, and when producers told him he should apologize, he said, “I wasn’t talking about the city of Flint. I was talking about him.”

“He gone call in and say Cleveland don’t deserve jack and he over there bathing in all that silver water,” he continued.

He also took one more shot at the man, saying, “Enjoy your nice brown glass of water.”

The exchange was posted to Facebook and caused serious uproar and social media users blasted Harvey for making light of a serious situation. Harvey has since issued a statement saying that it was nothing but a joke and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

This morning callers and I were cracking jokes about the Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Golden State Warriors. I’m a huge Cavs fan.
The caller and I were talking trash about our teams and cities. “SIMPLY TRASH TALKING ABOUT SPORTS”.
He emphasized during the apology that it was a joke, saying: “the caller laughed as my joke was taken in the context it was offered.”
