Black women should not be forgotten in the struggle for equality.

A special panel discussion will explore these themes, as well as other topics related to feminism and empowerment next week in New York City.

Winning Play$, a financial literacy program founded in 2010 by journalist an author Stacey Tisdale, will bring together panelists such as feminist icon Gloria Steinem, activist and author Carol Jenkins and ‘The Breakfast Club’ host Angela Yee.

Other panelists include Grace Vandecruz, Founder and Managing Director of Grace Capital LLC and Rianka Dorsainvil, President and Founder of Your Greatest Contribution.

Tisdale will moderate the discussion.

According to a press release, the panel discussion will “help the audience move beyond limiting perceptions and conditioning through an examination of how black women have transcended barriers from the feminist movement through modern day.”

CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller will host the event, which will include a special performance by the band BETTY.

Winning Play$ will also honor former NFL great Justin Tuck and his wife Lauran with the “Game Changers Award,” for their dedication to helping young people become financially literate through the couple’s R.U.S.H. for Literacy Foundation.

TheGrio.com will be a media partner for the event. The site will feature content from the evening’s panel discussion as well as other videos on its various social media networks.

Winning Play$: Black Women, Feminism & Empowerment will take place on Monday, June 26, 2017, at the Paley Center for Media in New York City:
