A visibly emotional Venus Williams broke down in tears during a press conference at the Wimbledon Open after being questioned about her involvement in a car crash that claimed the life of an elderly man.
“I’m completely speechless..it’s just,” Williams said before stopping mid-sentence, unable to speak while overcome with grief.
Within seconds, a representative for Wimbledon interjected to caution the press from asking any further questions regarding the tragic incident.

As reported last week, Williams, 37, was found at fault in the fatal crash after her car was T-boned while entering an intersection on a red light. The wife of the victim, 78-year-old Jerome Barson, is suing the tennis star for wrongful death.
