A gracious Solange makes surprise visit to Richmond, Virginia

This week, Solange Knowles made a surprise visit to the hometown of her husband, Alan G. Ferguson: Richmond, Virginia.

On Wednesday, Solange spent some time at The Little Nomad Shop, the owner of the clothing store told WTVR.

“She stumbled upon the shop around 3 p.m. yesterday and said she loved the aesthetic here,” owner Anthony Bryant said. “She said that she was shopping for her son and her niece. She didn’t specify which niece.”

Then, the pair went to dinner at Laura Lee’s, according to the restaurant owner, who said they were gracious and easy to get along with.

“At one point her husband stepped outside and left her sitting alone. One of the customers approached her and Solange invited her to sit down, and they visited with each other for about 15 minutes until her husband returned,” Kendra Feather said.

Shannon Wright, a customer at Laura Lee’s, said that she and her friend, who was the one to tip her off that Solange was there, were able to get pictures with the couple. She and Feather both noted that customers were respectful to the couple, but that they were still able to get pictures and to interact with them if they wanted.

“She was very pleasant. Before we parted ways, I gave her a business card because I’m a cartoonist and illustrator. My boyfriend and I told her how much we appreciated her album. She said that meant so much to her,” Wright said.
