This weekend, at Politicon, Tomi Lahren squared off against Chelsea Handler on the health care debate.
During the course of the debate, Lahren and Handler discussed the Republicans’ failed attempt at health care reform as well as possible alternatives to the current system. In the course of the debate, Handler asked Lahren, “Do you have a health care plan or no?”
“Well luckily, I’m 24, so I am still on my parents’ [plan]” Lahren admitted.
The audience booed Lahren in response, because the provision allowing children to stay on their parents’ health care plans until the age of 26 was a major part of Obamacare. However, Handler told the audience not to boo because “she’s being honest.”
Although Lahren admitted that she benefits from provisions like the 26-year cutoff, she said that Obamacare was in a “death spiral” and needed to be replaced. Handler responded by saying that President Donald Trump and the Republicans were “sabotaging” the system and that they should instead be working with the rest of Washington to create a better way forward for the country by improving the current system.
The two of them also discussed everything from Trump’s twitter habits–including his announcement on Twitter that he would be banning transgender people from the military–to Handler’s ex-fling, rapper 50 Cent.
