Kidd Creole was reportedly arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly fatally stabbed a homeless man that he thought was hitting on him.

Creole, real name Nathaniel Glover, was on his way to his job as a handyman and security guard when he encountered John Jolly, who was drunk, according to police sources.

“They had no prior relationship,” the source said, according to the New York Daily News. “They had words. Things got out of hand. It was some sort of diss.”

Apparently, Glover thought that Jolly, who was a convicted rapist and sex offender, was trying to hit on him.

“He turned, interpreting that the guy was making an advance toward him,” the source said. “One thing led to another, and he shivved him twice in the chest.”

Just after midnight on Tuesday night, pedestrians called 911 on Jolly’s account, believing him to be simply unconscious. So, first responders were surprised to find the stab wounds. Although Jolly was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center, he later died there.

“There were six people there, all tourists, all trying to help him,” said Van Scott, of Queens. “They thought he was overcome by the heat and then they saw he was stabbed. We just waited for the paramedics to come.”

Glover was partially identified thanks to surveillance footage of the area. He is best known as a former member of Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.
