On Thursday, Caitlyn Jenner was photographed wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, and she has since apologized and offered an explanation for the fashion choice.

Although Jenner had once been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, she has recently changed her tune, especially in the wake of the recent announcement on Twitter from the president that he would be banning transgender individuals from military service.

However, despite claiming that she no longer supported Trump, the reality star was spotted in the signature red hat.

Jenner explained that she had simply been wearing the hat because she needed something to protect her hair when she went to the country club for some golfing. She claimed that she had grabbed a hat without looking at it and wore it while golfing before she realized her mistake.

However, she still needed to protect her hairdo, so she wore the hat on the way home, switching it out for a golf visor when she stopped by a Starbucks. It was there that she was photographed in the hat, though, because she had left her purse inside the Starbucks and forgot that she had switched out the visor for the hat when she rushed back inside to get it.

“I apologize to all of the trans community,” she told TMZ. “I made a mistake. I will never do it again and I’m getting rid of the hat… What he’s doing to our community is absolutely f—ing awful.”
