‘I’m a white girl. They won’t believe you’: Ezekiel Elliott claims ex set out to ruin NFL career

Ezekiel Elliot is fighting his six-game suspension from the NFL, claiming that his former girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, is out to ruin his career.

According to documents obtained by the Dallas Star-Telegram, Elliot plans to use a conversation on July 22, 2016, in his defense. During the course of the conversation, he said, he was “100 percent sure” that Thompson told him, “You are a black male athlete. I’m a white girl. They are not going to believe you.”

He said that the two of them began to have problems after he started to put distance between them and said he didn’t want her around. He claimed that after he told her she was not invited to his 21st birthday party, she told him, “That’s the worst decision you made in your life. I’m going to ruin your life now.”

Elliot claimed that she screamed “your career is over” before calling police early on July 22 saying that she had been assaulted in a parked car. Text messages between her and Ayrin Mason, a friend, reportedly back up that claim.

Elliot’s father, Stacy, tweeted his support for his son on Monday.

The NFL has admitted that there is no evidence that the assault took place. However, the suspension is based on both photographic and digital evidence “that [Elliott] engaged in physical violence against Ms. Thompson on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016.”
