Meghan McCain slams ‘cruel’ Trump supporter for shouting her father ‘needs to die now’
During the recent Trump rally in Phoenix, Arizona, journalist David Catanese tweeted a picture of a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and reported that the man had been shouting hateful things about John McCain.
“This Trump supporter is shouting at protestors: ‘McCain needs to die now!’” Catanese tweeted Tuesday evening.
McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, responded shortly thereafter on Twitter.
“I wouldn’t wish seeing this about your own father on my worst enemy,” she said. “May God help these people who inflict such cruelty in the world.”

During the rally, Donald Trump slammed both of the Arizona senators: John McCain and Jeff Flake. He claimed that he “will not mention any names,” saying that the choice was “very presidential,” but it was clear who he was referring to when he lamented being “one vote” short on repealing Obamacare.
John McCain shocked many when he cast the deciding vote on the so-called “skinny repeal,” a fact that Trump is still furious over.
“And nobody wants me to talk about your other senator, who’s weak on borders, weak on crime, so I won’t talk about him,” he said of Flake, who is facing reelection. “Nobody wants me to talk about him. Nobody knows who the hell he is. And now, see, I haven’t mentioned any names. So now, everybody’s happy.”
