Dave Chappelle wins Emmy for guest role on ‘SNL’
Dave Chappelle won the Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his guest spot on Saturday Night Live, just after the election.
On Sunday, Dave Chappelle won the Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, his first ever Emmy, for his guest spot on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 12, just after the election.
The twist? Chappelle has since apologized for that appearance, in which he told SNL viewers to give president-elect Trump a chance. He said that he “f****d up” with his opening monologue.
Now, Chappelle has won an award for the very same episode that he’s distanced himself from.
The rest of his appearance on the show included a hilarious Walking Dead parody, among other sketches.
Chappelle’s competition included two other SNL hosts: Tom Hanks and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
